Unlike fishermen on the east and west coasts, fishermen on the prairies are required by law to sell their catch to the government. However, many fishermen have calculated they could increase their incomes by excluding the inefficient government middleman.
It's time to free the fishermen - the federal government should let the fishermen decide if they wish to keep selling to the government marketing board or on their own.
